A Letter from Leigh
Dear Friend,
When I wrote to you in May expressing genuine concern about a shortfall in our funding, never did I expect the outpouring of support that friends like you selflessly provided. I have been truly humbled by your generous support.
Thank you for your prayers, for your continued belief in our programs and for your truly generous gifts. I know that your support has come from the heart, for it is the heart – and the strength of God – that encourages us to lift up the lives of those in desperate need.
Through your gifts, we can now plan our projects for the next six months, maximising our opportunities to bring the aid, relief and development desperately needed by so many.
So often, this all begins with a simple shoe box. I’m inspired by Kingborough Family Church in Hobart which generates incredible results for Operation Christmas Child by conducting a year-long campaign. Their example may just be the encouragement you need for your church or school to create a shoe box collection campaign of true abundance.
As the excitement and momentum builds towards the shoe box collection, it’s impossible not to become enthusiastic about the thousands of children in need who will receive shoe boxes this year. Imagine their sheer delight and wonder at receiving a special box of goodies this Christmas – when usually there is nothing!
Thank you for being willing to share the real meaning of Christmas through such a powerful, yet simple gift.
And thank you once again for your commitment to reach out with God’s unconditional love to those in greatest need through your support of Samaritan’s Purse.
God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. – 2 Corinthians 9:8
God bless you!
