Smiles Along the River as the First Boxes Arrive
The distances and efforts that are made to get these boxes to children are always amazing. To think that any one of these shoe boxes tells a story of the heart of the people packing them, then that box travels from them, to Samaritan’s Purse warehouse, to the shipping yard, then overseas on a long journey, then onto the partner church, then down a long and winding road, through a jungle, down a river, then more jungle and finally into the hands of one very important child!

I am really pleased to get to see some of the children open the boxes. It makes it all the more real & worthwhile. It makes me want to make even more of an effort to get people to do it again next year.
Well done to everyone involved in getting them there.

Truly amazing to see the joy on the faces of these young children.
It is a miracle indeed and only possible through the generosity of many people. Keep up the good work.
December 20th, 2009 at 11:37 pm
It is great that my children can see where our box goes to and the pleasure it brings to the children that receive these boxes. They can now picture what our small effort can do. Hopefully it will help our children realise how very lucky they are and that helping others not so priveleged is a good thing.

This is such a touching thing to watch!!
Our school co-ordinated Opereation Christmas Child for Esperance. We collected about 500 full boxes, within our school community (and we have less than 30 students at the school)
It doesn’t really seem like much, but we took it as a great achievement and an honour.
December 21st, 2009 at 1:17 am
What an uplifing video, to see so many smiles on children’s faces from the joy of a simple gift! Praise be to God for Operation Christmas Child and the dedication of people to transport the boxes to children who really deserve some kindness shown to them!

December 21st, 2009 at 3:21 am
My eyes filled with tears as I saw the joy on the faces of the children, the faces of their parents and the face of the Pastor who was descibing the event. God is wonderful in how He impacts us and shows us the happiness that comes from receiving but even more just how much more blessed it is to give than to receive.
December 21st, 2009 at 3:26 am
Thank you for that video clip. It really puts it into perspective for my children who shopped for and packed some shoeboxes to see the journey and delivery of the boxes. And the best is seeing the reaction when they are opened. Thanks again.

How wonderful to see the children so excited about receiving their Christmas boxes. I had just as much fun filling my shoe boxes as the children had receiving them. I am going to start collecting items throughout next year so I can fill many more boxes than I did this year. Bless you all at Samaritan’s Purse for organising and distributing the boxes for us all. Merry Christmas to you all.
PS. The video is awesome and really brings it home.

What a very powerful ministry. Very moving, seeing the excitement and happy smiles on the faces of the children as they open up their boxes to reveal their gifts.
May this ministry grow from strength to strength.
December 23rd, 2009 at 5:32 pm
Thankyou so much for the video. My family spent the last year collecting, then with the help of the grandchildren we packed numerous boxes. It is such a worthwhile project and it is wonderful for our children to realise that there are children who have so little, and it takes so little to give them some happiness and joy. It’s been a privilege to also give time to process the boxes in the warehouse, but now to see the journey that some of them have taken makes it all worthwhile. We’ll be helping again next year! God bless all those who are making this ministry possible.
December 23rd, 2009 at 5:37 pm

Thank you for this gift of seeing the boxes being opened and the absolute joy on both the childrens faces and the parents also.
My children have decided to double our efforts next year.
Thanks so much. Well done to everyone involved. The true gift is in giving. Which is the gift of Jesus’s birth today. Merry Christmas to all and may God be with you all.

I help co-ordinate this project in our local area and watch other ‘promo dvd’s’ etc but receiving this email/video on Christmas has reminded us that the boxes we packed months ago have actually got to a destination for a beautiful child. THanks to all the persons involved with SP distribution. It makes me question myself as to how much more I could give.
January 7th, 2010 at 6:34 am
Thank you so much for the video showing the responses of the children! My daughter, age 5, and I put two boxes together and it was awesome to be able to show this to her. If she didn’t fully understand what we were doing in all this, she does now! Thank you for blessing us in this way.
