VIDEO: Julie’s Story

The Dyson Family packed a shoe box for a girl in need for the 2009 Operation Chrstmas Child Campaign. Julie – the girl who received the box had it handed to her by the people from Living Light Foursquare church in Port Moresby. See how Julie and the Dyson Family react when the box is opened!

“A big smile on her face – how do you compare with that?”

Thank you for showing me the video of Julie receiving the box. Our church has done the gift boxes a few times and it would be good to do it again. Keep up the great work that you all do. God bless.
    Sincerely, Sue Jack

    Hi,
It’s nice to see the Dysons’ reaction, but I feel it would have been better to show more of Julie’s reaction and less of the Dysons. The cutover to the the Dyson’s reaction came at a crucial time just when Julie opened her present and had yet to register a response. It would have been better had the Dysons’ reaction been shown at the END of Julie’s reaction. This would have emphasised more on the receiver than the giver.

Thank you for taking the time to read this comment.

Elena – thanks for your comment – of course it is more about the receiver than the sender of the gift… but we wanted to show both sides of the gift in this video… there are many other video’s on our site that you will enjoy: http://www.operationchristmaschild.org.au/?page_id=431

One of the most popular videos globally is this one of a boy in Africa and his box (before he has even opened it):

My husband and I really really enjoyed that video !!! Thank you Jesus for the love you have for every single child in the world ! We will definitly do the gift box again this year, one for a boy, one for a girl ! We love you Jesus!!!

Thank you! It is always wonderful to see children opening their Operation Christmas Child boxes and something that I will never become used to. Look at Julie enjoying the smell of the bar of soap – a simple bar of soap! It is so easy to think of what we would like for ourselves, but seeing a child enjoy a box of goodies, or even just imagining their joy as we pack one up, is worth so much more. I can’t wait to show my daughters this video in the morning.

Loved the video! Jesus stirs our hearts through seeing where our shoeboxes go! Thank you!

:-) Praise God for the free gift of love that He commands us to share with others & thanks be to God for organizations like Samaritan’s Purse that allows one person, such as myself, to have the opportunity to make a difference in another person’s life in another part of the world that we may not ordinarily get the chance to do so otherwise…
